Hi everyone, today is my day to reveal the projects I made with the April kit.
Sadly this is my last DT reveal as I am leaving the design team. Life is too crazy busy right now and I no longer have the time that these amazing kits deserve.
Thank you so very much to Krissy and Kim for letting me be part of the team, I've loved every minute of it <3

First up today I have the layout for Anatomy of a layout. This was made with materials only from the main kit. The photo tutorial for this is now on Snapguide HERE

Next up I have the layout I made for this months Sketch challenge.
This was made using materials from the Main Kit, Embellishment add on kit and Flower add on kit. I created the background paper by layering several pieces of paper together.

No automatic alt text available.

Here is what I created with this months Project add on kit. I loved these shadow boxes, I lined the inside with paper from the main kit and then embellished with lots of flowers

Finally today I have a layout made for the All That Flutters Challenge. I coloured the Creative Embellishment chipboard frames with liquid pearls and layered them to create my background.

The Layout of the Week goes to Hanne for this beautiful page. I love all of the stenciling and pretty clusters of flowers and icons; most of all, I love the brilliant pop of red cardstock that brings out her adorable photo so well!!!

Congratulations, Hanne!!!!

How do you like the Swirlydoos April kit? Gorgeous isn't it? I love all the Prima goodies. So, let me share my sketch first. Well, I actually created a canvas rather than a layout.

Here's Kim's sketch.

Using a 12x12 canvas I used a stencil to create some texture with 3D Gloss gel first. Then, added some Prima watercolors.

Here's a few close-ups.

I couldn't resist adding a Frank G crown to the spoon.

The Frank frame was painted with Sparks paint then sprinkled with some glitter.

I even used a Prima glue pen and some foils to add some sparkle to the canvas.

What did you do with those chippies? Let me share a layout with you.

Here's my All that Flutters layout.

The Tim Holtz vignette trays were a lot of fun to decorate.
There is a video tutorial on how these were made.

Here is a video tutorial for you.

Hey everyone, I'm here today with my full reveal of projects created with the Swirlydoos April *Wild Flower* monthly kit. This kit is so jammed packed with the gorgeous Prima and Blue Fern papers. You have to get one, if you don't already subscribe.

I have been having so much fun trying my hand at sketch designing. There is still a bit of a learning curve, but it is fun. Hope you like the new sketch designs, they are made to go more with the kit and it's contents.

Here is the sketch again:

Here is my take on the sketch. This kit is full of beautiful vintage papers. I loved that some of the papers had plenty texture. I used this sheet to highlight a the photo of dh and I, the color was perfect. I used the frame from my stash, but everything else is from the kit.

I did add a bit of sticky rub-ons in the background. Then used some rose-gold foil on them. These are from a past kit.

Next up is another layout.I created this using a photo I found on the internet (don't know who to credit the photo).
I did some paper distressing and a lot of layering. The chip board is from my stash. There is some masking and misting in the background. I used lots of flowers and some sequins. This layout is for the All That Flutters Challenge on the forums, hence the butterfly.

Next up is another layout.. I created this using a photo I found on the internet (don't know who to credit the photo).
I did a lot of layering on this layout. I did some masking on the background and I used lots of die cuts. The chippies are from the kit, I used embossing powder on them. All the flowers are from the kit and the flower add on.

That's all I have for now, so thanks for stopping by. What a way to celebrate Spring - Swirlydoos' Wildflower Kit and Add-Ons are packed full of gorgeous colors, elegant embellishments (with a bit of fun thrown in!) and, as always, the opportunities to create several OTP projects.

I started with the sketch (did you know that every Swirlydoos Kit comes with an original sketch created by Swirlydoos Designer Kim Heard?), the Whitford sheet from Blue Fern Studios' Chesterville collection and this wonderful photo of my daughter-in-law and granddaughter that my son took on Easter Sunday. I've added the oversized Frank Garcia resin frame and Tim Holtz Quote Chips from the main kit, flowers from the main kit and various add-ons, and one of the Frank Garcia spoons that came in the Embellishment kit. The Mediums kit is just amazing this month; I used the new Finnabair Waxes and Sparks to color the resin frame and Quote Chips, along with the clay cherub and small frame that I made with air-dry clay.

Here is the sketch.

And my layout...

And a few closeups...

I'm now hosting the All That Flutters Challenge http://www.swirlydoos.com/forums/topic/may-atf-challenge-wildflower/ - a monthly chance to show off some of your collection of butterflies, dragonflies, bees, ladybugs, birds, fairies and anything else that well, flutters!

Here is the layout that I created as an example, using a gorgeous paper from Prima's Wild and Free collection, more of the Quote Chips and the amazing chippie that came in the Main Kit to scrap this group of beautiful Swirly Campers. Those cute Darice wood butterflies, the frame and the Quote Chips were all treated with Finnabair Waxes and Sparks from the Mediums kit.

Some closeups...

This next layout features all three grandchildren on Easter. I've used another of the Blue Fern Studios Chesterville papers and various scraps to mat the photo. That's a Creative Embellishments chippie (Distressed Chicken Wire Border) that was treated with more of the Finn Waxes. The vines under the flowers were cut from an old dictionary page using a Sizzix Wildflowers Thinlits die from the Die add-on and colored with the Ranger Gold Metallic paint from the Mediums kit.

And now for this month's Project Add-On, featuring 2 Tim Holtz Vignette Boxes and tons of fun pieces to embellish them with! The boxes themselves were colored with Ranger Gold Metallic paint; I've used a few scraps of papers on the inside. Before adhering the Tim Holtz Finials to the tops and bottoms, I coated them with Finnabair Waxes. I created the decor on the sides with air-dry clay, using IOD Moulds; like the Finials, they're coated with Finnabair Waxes. Those adorable domes (filled with beads from my stash), the grape hearts, spools and twine are included in this kit; the flowers and the gold nailheads are from the Embellishment kit. The photo is from my family's collection: my Aunts Dorothy and Jean c.1925.
